THE DISPOSABLE SACRAL TOPICAL HYPERBARIC OXYGEN SYSTEM
Complex, infected recalcitrant-stage 2, 3, & 4 wounds represent some of your greatest challenges. The healing process can start within 2-3 days when utilizing The Disposable Sacral Topical Hyperbaric Oxygen System.
Infected ulcers, burns and post surgical wounds can be healed effectively and economically when 100% oxygen is diffused directly into the wound at above atmosphere pressure, in a moist environment.
"Effects of hyperbaric oxygen include improved collagen synthesis, revascularization and bacterial reduction or elimination" - Boguslav H. Fischer

Clinically: |
|
Diffused oxygen raises capillary PO2 levels at the wound site, rendering leukocytes more effective and enhancing antibacterial activity. (leukocytes are ineffective when capillary PO2 levels are below 30.) |
|
As PO2 levels rise, visable capillary budding begins to occur. |
|
Granulation of new, healthy tissue begins to form. |
|
The humidification system of the sacral unit keeps the wound moist during treatment expediting the healing process further. |

The Disposable Sacral Hyperbaric oxygen system
DESCRIPTION:
- The Disposable Sacral Topical Hyperbaric Oxygen System contains:
- White/clear vinyl unit with O2 hose and pressure valve
- Foam/velcro binder
Note: Oxygen humidifier bottle is not included with the Sacral System.
The system disperses 100% oxygen directly to the wound site at 22mm of mercury pressures. Pressures are pre-set and automatically disperse the oxygen. The humidification system keeps the wound moist during treatment.
INDICATIONS:
- Stage 2, 3, or 4 infected or non infected decubitus ulcers, burns, post surgical wounds or open wounds.
PROTOCOL:
- Obtain a physician's order prior to initiation of treatment. Recommended treatment time is 1 hour B.I.D. Therapy should be utilized on a clean lesion or after the lesion has been debrided.
PROCEDURES:
- Culture the wound to determine whether pseudomonas is present. If present, apply a 1/4 to 1/2 of 1% Acetic Acid dressing (one thickness gauze) over the lesion during treatment.
- Remove all creams, ointments, and dressings prior to application of the unit, except in the presence of pseudomonas (see Step 1).
- The lesion should be kept covered after each treatment with a moist, environmental dressing. Suggested dressing, Ferris Polymem active membrane dressing.
